Built in 1910 as a private residence, the building at 1210 Peel Street became a tavern in the early 1930s. Under a variety of names it has remained as a tavern serving the needs of local residents and visitors alike. Today as McLean's, it still retains the characteristics of the original building with its high beamed ceilings, extensive wood panelling and carved wooden fireplace bearing the original family crest.
